My research primarily focuses on how individual factors, such as parents’ executive functioning skills and psychopathology, and contextual factors, such as stress, are related to how parents explain their child’s behavior and their parenting practices. The goal of this research is to identify determinants and mitigating factors for negative child-blaming attributions and parenting behaviors. In understanding these processes, I hope to identify targets for parenting interventions in order to support parents in their role and to ultimately improve parent-child relationships.
